About Frank Gehry

Frank Gehry has created some of the most influential architecture of our time.

For over five decades, his experimentation with structure, shape and material has earned him some of the most important architectural awards including the Pritzker Prize (USA), the American Institute of Architects Gold Medal, the Praemium Imperiale Award (Japan) and Royal Institute of British Architects Gold Medal.

Born in Toronto, Canada in 1929, Gehry moved with his family to Los Angeles at the age of 19. After studying at the University of Southern California and Harvard University, he set up his own architectural practice in Los Angeles in 1962.

Since then, Gehry’s unconventional and original creations have challenged perceptions of architecture, and transformed the way we interact with our physical environments.
